We introduce common questions from visitors along with their answers.

When will the “New Auto Campsite” open?
The former free campsite “Hoshi no Hiroba” will be renewed and reborn as an Auto Campsite!
The grand opening is scheduled for Spring 2026. Please wait a little longer.

*The opening schedule may change depending on construction progress.

What can I do at the “Former Auto Campsite”?
The former auto campsite was renovated and reopened in July 2025 as “Hoshi no Cottage.”
Two cottages with private terraces and gardens are now available.

Are pets allowed?
This park is adjacent to a World Natural Heritage area.
To protect the precious wildlife of Yanbaru, pets are not permitted.
Is it allowed to collect plants or living creatures?
Collection is strictly prohibited.
When you find beautiful plants or creatures, you may feel tempted to take them home. However, if each visitor takes even one item, the impact accumulates significantly. To preserve this forest for future generations, please refrain from collecting anything.
Are cancellation fees charged?
Cancellation fees are charged as follows:

■ Bungalows / Tree Houses / Cabins / Cottages
From 7 days prior: 30% of accommodation fee
1 day prior: 50% of accommodation fee
Same day / No notice: 100% of accommodation fee

■ Campsites
From 3 days prior: 30% of accommodation fee
2 days prior & 1 day prior: 50% of accommodation fee
Same day / No notice: 100% of accommodation fee

Can I pay by credit card on site?
Credit cards and electronic payments are accepted for purchases at the reception building.

Payment methods
Can I pay for accommodation on site?
All accommodation reservations require advance payment.
Reservations can be made via the website until 12:00 PM on the day before your stay. Same-day reservations are not accepted.
Can vehicles enter the campsite?
■ <Mori no Hiroba> → Vehicle entry is not permitted.
Please park in the adjacent parking area and unload your gear there.

■ <Camp Deck> → Vehicle entry is not permitted.
Please unload at the unloading area and then park in the designated camp deck parking lot.

We are arriving in multiple cars. Is parking available?
• Dedicated parking spaces are provided for each accommodation and campsite.
• Visitors without overnight stays should use the general parking lot.
• Overnight guests should follow parking instructions given at check-in.
• When arriving with multiple vehicles per reservation, all vehicles except the representative’s car should be parked in the general parking lot.

How many tents can be set up at one campsite?
■ <Mori no Hiroba> → There is no strict limit.
Please be considerate of other guests.
This is a free site without marked boundaries; please use approximately 10m x 10m per group.

■ <Camp Deck> → No strict limit, but this area is for solo or duo use (capacity: 2 people).
Please ensure your tent fits within the deck area.

Do the showers have hot water?
Yes, hot water showers are available.
There are three shower rooms each for men and women.
Water temperature can be adjusted collectively.
For overnight guests, shower use is included in the accommodation fee and available 24 hours (from check-in to check-out).
Day-use visitors are charged an additional fee; please contact the management office in advance.
Is there a convenience store nearby?
Yes, there is one along National Route 58, about a 10-minute drive away.

Is campfire allowed?
<Permitted Areas> → Mori no Hiroba, Hoshi no Cottage (lawn area), Bungalows (near outdoor bench tables), Tree Houses (under the eaves), and Mori no Cabin (using designated fire pits).
To prevent ground damage, please use a fire pit and fireproof sheet.
Can I use fallen wood as firewood? Is firewood sold?
Using fallen wood as firewood is not permitted.
Fallen trees serve as habitats and food sources for wildlife and are an important part of the forest ecosystem.
Please bring your own firewood or purchase it at the reception building.
How is mobile phone reception?
Reception varies by carrier and location.
Overall, au and docomo networks work well in main facilities.
SoftBank and Rakuten networks may have weaker reception.
Some areas have no signal at all.
Currently, Wi-Fi is available only in Bungalows, but Wi-Fi areas will be expanded and announced on our website and Instagram.
Is day-use available?
Yes, day-use is available.
Walking trails and gazebos are open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Some accommodation-priority areas may require a fee depending on use. Please inquire at the park reception.
Can I walk around early in the morning or at night?
Outside opening hours (6:00 PM – 9:00 AM), the park is reserved for overnight guests and guided tour participants only.
Visitors may join the “Forest Exploration Night Tour.”

Can I enjoy stargazing without staying overnight?
From 6:00 PM to 9:00 AM, the park is reserved for overnight guests and tour participants.
Only the general parking area is accessible.
We also offer a “Stargazing Tour.”

  • Kunigami Village Community Bus
  • The bus operates four times a day.
    The two morning services (10:00 and 11:00) are reservation-based and operate from your preferred pickup location.
